Metal Powder Conference Seeks Technical Papers

The program committee for the 2011 International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (PowderMet2011) has issued a “Call for Papers & Posters” covering the latest developments in powder metallurgy (PM) materials, processes, and applications. Sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) in cooperation with APMI International, the conference will be held in San Francisco, May 18 to 21, 2011, at the Marriot Marquis hotel.

Technical program co-chairmen Iver Eric Anderson, FAPMI, senior metallurgist, Ames Laboratory, and Thomas W. Pelletiers, business manager, SCM Metal Products, Inc., request abstracts of 100–150 words, covering all aspects of PM and materials technology. In addition, several key topics have been identified for in-depth discussion within the special interest programs such as advances in titanium PM; electronic materials applications; sinter hardening and leaner/economic powders; tribology; PM materials for alternative energy; and the automotive market today and tomorrow.
