2010 EPMA Awards for Excellence in Powder Metallurgy

The EPMA announced the launch of its prestigious ‘Awards for Excellence in Powder Metallurgy’ Competition. Over the years these awards have done much to promote and stimulate interest in PM technology.

The awards are open to ALL EPMA members and it is hoped that in this World Congress year members will seriously consider submitting an entry. Register online at www.epma.com/awards the deadline for submissions is 7th May 2010.

The awards are for major achievements in successful commercialisation OR innovation, of a product, material, equipment or process.

There are 3 categories:

Components: covering all types of PM products: structural parts, bearings, hardmetals, wear and corrosion resistant parts, PM semi-products, metal injection moulded parts etc.

Materials: powder based materials, evaluated on the basis of their properties

Production Equipment: presses, furnaces, tooling etc.

The awards will be presented at a special ‘Awards Luncheon’ on Tuesday, 12th October at the PM2010 World Congress & Exhibition to be held in Florence, Italy. A short video on each award winner will be prepared by the EPMA and shown during the Awards Luncheon. Extensive press coverage will be given to the winners and ALL entries, together with the winners, will be prominently displayed as part of a PM Showcase at the PM 2010 Exhibition. This will provide an excellent opportunity for companies both to demonstrate their achievements and to bring key customers to the wonderful city of Florence.
